Three handmade copper and nickel crosses on a little round food basket necklace
Ethiopian Christians have worn neck crosses for over 1,600 years as a symbol of their faith. The cross was suspended around the neck by a cotton blue cord called a “mateb” which was received at baptism, we chose to replace this with a little food basket necklace. The crosses are usually named from the region that they originate and this necklace features crosses from Axum and Lalibella along with with Ornate star of David surrounding the Falasha cross.
